CARLA RIPLEY

Looking for a Therapist

I can't take you on. But I probably know someone who can.

Let me save you the scrolling. I am medically retired, I do not treat anybody, and there is no waiting list to join. What I do have is a great many good people in this industry, and I am glad to point you toward one of them.

Why I am not in a treatment room

I owned and ran Smooth Synergy Cosmedic Clinics for the better part of twenty years, and I have been in this industry for almost twenty five.

My hands cannot do it any more. My body made that decision for me.

Clients still write to me. "When are you coming back?" "Will you be my skin therapist?" For years the answer was no, and it never once got easier to say. So I stopped leaving it there. Now when somebody asks, I find them somebody.

Does any of this sound like you

You want to do something for your skin and you have no idea where to start. It looks dull, it feels dry, it has gone a bit lifeless, and every time you go looking for an answer there are forty of them and they all contradict each other.

You used to spend properly on your skin. Cosmeceuticals, clinic products, the good stuff. That is not in the budget any more, and you have quietly grieved it.

Or you can still afford it and you no longer want it. You have started reading labels, and what you find on the back of those bottles does not sit right with you any more.

Your skin has changed and you are not sure when it happened. Things that worked before do not work now, or they make it worse. You react to more than you used to.

You are tired of being sold hope, and you would like someone to be straight with you.

Either way, you still want to see a result. Wanting simpler does not mean settling for nothing.

The right person will be straight with you. My job is to find you the right person.

What settled skin actually means

There is a word for it. Homeostasis.

We use it constantly behind the scenes in this industry and almost never say it out loud to a client. It means balance. Skin holding its water. Barrier intact. Repairing overnight. Behaving like itself, day to day, without drama.

Most of what our industry sells is built on the opposite idea. Change it. Resurface it, strip it back, correct it, force a response. I did that work for twenty five years and I was good at it. What I would look for now is different. Fewer things, chosen well, used consistently, with somebody sensible keeping an eye on it.

That is the sort of therapist I try to send people to.

How this works

There is nothing to pay, nothing to buy, and no catch. If I do not know anybody suitable near you, I will tell you that too rather than sending you to somebody just to have an answer.

Tell me what you're after

Your details come to me and nobody else. I will not pass them to any practitioner until I have come back to you and you have said yes to that person by name. No newsletter, no list, nothing sold or shared. Ask me at any time and I will delete everything I hold.

And if you just want the gel

You do not need me for that, and you do not need to wait for anybody. Carnosine Gel is the one thing I have found that I keep going back to, and my first three months with it are written up on the Carnosine page, photographs and all.

In full disclosure.

I am a LactiGo affiliate. If you buy a tube through my shop link, I am paid a commission on it. I would rather you heard that from me than found it in small print at the bottom.

Nothing on this page depends on it. Being pointed toward a therapist costs you nothing and is not tied to buying anything, from me or from anyone else.

This page reflects my own personal experience. Carnosine Gel is a cosmetic and self-care product, not a medicine. Nothing here is medical advice, and nothing here replaces your doctor. Individual results will vary.
